THORP SOCIAL FUNDRAISERS

Support Friends of Thorp by organizing your own social get-together for Thorp Parents, Kids or Families!! Your event will help strengthen the Thorp community by providing a chance for parents and families to interact outside of school.

Social events are organized and planned by a Thorp parent or a group of parents who share in the cost of the get-together. You’ll communicate the details via 2025 Thorp Social Fundraiser Form. During the 2025 Gala Auction, Friends of Thorp will sell tickets to your social event. After the Gala, Friends of Thorp will communicate your guest list and emails. Paid admission is open to all Thorp parents and all proceeds go towards Friends of Thorp. Oh, and they also tend to be lots of fun!

We encourage you to think outside the box— experiences, workshops & excursions are all great ideas. If it brings parents together, builds community and raises funds for our school we want to hear about it! Friends of Thorp is an independent, non-profit fundraising organization whose sole mission is to raise money to support O.A. Thorp Scholastic Academy, its students and staff.   

Ideas:

• Golf outing
• Backyard Bags Tournament or BBQ
• Poker Night, Brewery Tour, Beer Run or Whiskey Tasting
• Jam session
• Small group art, cooking or photography class (share your skills and knowledge with others)
• Offer to host parents of a classroom or a group hosts the entire grade night out
• Parents Kickball Game- 1 or more families supply equipment and snacks/ drinks
• Progressive Dinner
• Yoga class and drinks/snacks afterwards
• Glam or Spa Party at a home or salon
• Scavenger Hunt (run around like kids again!)
• Movie or bowling night
• Group dance lesson night 
• Do you have a special skill, interest or hobby?  Combine a “workshop” for a small group with drinks and appetizers – et voila! Super-cool party

• Social event needs to be approved by Friends of Thorp by February 28, 2025.
• Please complete a 2025 Thorp Social Fundraiser Form for Friends of Thorp approval.
• As the organizer it will be your responsibility to cover all expenses. Friends of Thorp will manage ticket pricing and can assist with online ticket sales. Friends of Thorp will communicate an email list of purchased attendees.
• Event organizers are responsible for obtaining all necessary permits, licenses and insurance certificates if applicable..
• All ticket sales proceeds will be sent directly to Friends of Thorp.
• Any changes to description or event must be approved in writing by Friends of Thorp.
• Tickets will go on sale with the 2025 Gala Auction.
